The ECN is the dynamic government agency for the coordinated, comprehensive and cost-effective development of the nation’s energy sector.

Mission  Statement

The Energy Commission of Nigeria is to ensure the most efficient and cost effective assessment, development and exploitation of the Nation’s Energy Resources in an environmentally sustainable manner to serve the interest of the nation and the needs of international communities, through effective monitoring and coordination of the energy sector policies, programme, plans and actions, consistent with the nation’s economic development objectives.

Our Seven Cardinal Guiding Principles are the commitment to the followings: -

a.    Professionalism in all energy matters

b.    Commitment to the service of the nation  

c.    Integrity is maintained to preserve our services to the nation

d.    Our services are total for achieving all the desired objectives of the Federal Government 

e.    Transparency is our highest value in all our dealings with any stakeholder

f.    Sustainability and reliability are amongst the key factors in all energy development efforts in the country

g.    With the full security of energy supply in the country, industries and indeed the entire economic sector will grow in all dimensions to make Nigeria an industrialized nation.
