The Nigerian Association for Energy Economics Visits Energy Commission of Nigeria
The President of the Nigerian Association for Energy Economics (NAEE), Prof. Yinka Omorogbe, the former President,
Prof. Wumi Iledere and other members of her team paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of Energy Commission of Nigeria,
Prof Eli Jidere Bala, on Wednesday 9th June, 2021 at the headquarters of the Commission.
Prof. Yinka Omorogbe noted that the Commission has been a committed member of the Association and appreciated
the Director General who she said has been a voice to reckon within the energy sector and had given useful advice on several occasions.
She maintained that the Association had an unbroken yearly conference all through the 14years of its existence. She reiterated that
they came solely to speak about their forth coming conference, to invite and to ask the DG to partner with them like other organisations,
while requesting that NAEE be an approved Association for the members of staff of the Commission similar to what is obtainable in other
energy related parastatals to strengthen the importance of institutional membership.
The Director General Prof. Eli Jidere Bala in his response assured the NAEE team that Energy Commission of Nigeria will
continue to support them. The Director General appreciated the team while mentioning that NAEE will be a worthy partner. He urged the
Directors to appeal to their staff to join the Association because of its relevance. He concluded by saying that the Commission is willing
to Cooperate and support NAEE.
