Functions of the Department:
- Be responsible for renewable energy policy formulation, planning, monitoring, and evaluation;
- Be the focal point of the Commission for renewable energy industry activities;
- Monitor the manpower issues in the renewable energy industry and collaborate with the ETMD on the same;
- Collaborate with the EIS department on renewable energy statistics and information;
- Collaborate with the EUMD on the promotion of renewable energy applications in all sectors of the economy;
- Promote research and development in renewable energy;
- Collaborate with relevant local and international stakeholders on renewable energy policy and planning;
- Perform any other duty that may be assigned by the Management or the Director-General/CEO.
