Professor Bala, DG/CEO Conferred Mayegun (Leader of Peace) by Oodua Youth Parliament

The Oodua Youth Parliament conferred on Prof. Eli Jidere Bala, Director-General/CEO, Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), the title of “Mayegun” (Leader of Peace) on Friday, 11th March, 2022 at the ECN Headquarters. He was also awarded Certificate of Excellence, for his charismatic acumen, fervent and continuous productive contribution towards youth empowerment. According to Hon. Abdulmajeed O. Oyeniyi, Honourable Speaker of Oodua Youth Parliament (OYP), Prof. Bala has been a supporter of students’ development projects and above all the less privilege in our society for nation-building.

The Speaker described the OYP as the youth organisation recognized by Traditional Rulers and Governors in all South West States including Edo and Kogi states, where we have Yoruba extractions, with the responsibility of coordinating and regulating affairs of youth Associations/Parliaments. He also confirmed that the Organisation has National, State and Local structures in six (6) states and their Local Government Areas respectively, with a total membership of over 70 million young Nigerians.
