ECN Drives Renewable Energy in Education Sector
The Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, has taken a significant step towards promoting
sustainable energy in the education sector. A productive meeting was held with the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, at the Ministry of Education
headquarters, advancing the Renewed Hope Solarization Project. This initiative aims to provide educational institutions across Nigeria’s 36 states and the FCT with
reliable renewable energy sources and a robust energy sustainability plan.
By enhancing existing power infrastructure, the project aims to optimize learning environments and improve operational efficiency. This
collaboration underscores the commitment of both the ECN and the Ministry of Education to harnessing renewable energy for national development. The ECN remains
dedicated to driving energy sustainability initiatives that benefit various sectors, including education. This partnership is poised to yield positive outcomes
for Nigeria’s educational institutions, promoting a brighter future for the nation’s youth.
