Electricity and Fossil Fuels Department
The functions of this department are:
- be responsible for electricity industry policy formulation, planning, monitoring, and evaluation;
- be responsible for energy management in electricity supply industry value chain;
- track the development in the electricity sector at both the national and global levels;
- monitor the manpower issues in the electricity industry and collaborate with the ETMD on the same;
- collaborate with the EIS department on electricity industry statistics and information;
- collaborate with relevant local and international stakeholders on electricity policy and planning;
- respond to stakeholders’ invitations on peaceful applications of nuclear science and technology on behalf of the Commission in the interim;
- be responsible for all fossil fuels policy formulation, planning, monitoring, and evaluation;
- be the focal point of the Commission for fossil fuels industry activities;
- be responsible for energy management in fossil fuels supply industry value chain;
- be the hub for energy modelling in the Commission and coordinate the work with all relevant departments;
- collaborate with relevant local and international stakeholders on fossil fuels policy and planning;
- monitor the manpower issues in the fossil fuels industry and collaborate with the ETMD on the same;
- collaborate with the EIS department on fossil fuels industries data and information;
- perform any other duty that may be assigned by the Management or the Director-General/CEO.
